I love The Chive.
I love it so much I’m sure people think somehow I’m financially-linked to how many hits they get. Not so – it’s just such an awesome site that I can’t help but love it. And so I write about it.
So on Tuesday I was cruising through it and I ran across a post entitled “A little inspiration goes a long way“. Now, normally when I see a title like that I expect something along the lines of, say, this motivational poster.
But not Tuesday.
It features a number of great quotes (32 of them!) with (mostly) great backgrounds. Quotes like:
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” (Mark Twain)
“It is a risk to love. What if it doesn’t work out? Ah, but what if it does?” (Peter McWilliams)
“A ship in port is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.” (Grace Murray Hopper)
Oh yeah – and a bunch of unattributed ones, like
“Judging a person does not define who they are. It defines who you are.”
If you have never checked out The Chive, do it here (you might want to read this post first, though, if you’re at work). If you want to find the inspirational quotes I’m referencing they’re right here. I’d say “tell ‘em Pauly sent you”…but I’m pretty sure they don’t know who I am which is fine – as long as they keep putting out spectacular content every day they’re awesome in my book.by
