Sometimes I hate my random roamings around the Google Play store.
I keep the number of games on my phone to a minimum. Not because I don’t like video games (I love them – I have dozens of games on my computer and play the Xbox and PS3 with the kids) but because for the most part I’m pretty disappointed with the fare on the phone platform.
There are a few notable exceptions Continue reading Defending Texel
“‘Tis the season to be jolly…”
You know the rest – it involves a lot of “la”s, Yule stuff and joy. It’s standard Christmastime fare that’s in every caroler’s repertoire and is played – ad nauseum – on every radio station that plays Christmas songs this time of year.
But for me there’s also a flip side to the season. My mom’s birthday is on December 4th but we don’t get to celebrate it with her – she died six years ago. My former boss and friend passed away two years ago about this time. And shortly after Continue reading ‘Tis The Season
We all have that one thing that takes us back. Maybe it’s hearing the synthesizer jamming on the first song you remember hearing; maybe it’s the smell of your first girlfriend’s perfume; maybe it’s seeing a clip from the first rated-R movie you snuck into when you were 15.
I was wandering the 1s and 0s of the Internet this evening (the Ravens-Steelers game is at the half) and somehow stumbled onto a Continue reading Flashback
I was doing my daily consumption of the latest and greatest headlines and one particularly well-respected journal decided that this particular tidbit of news was pretty important to share:
Polls: Congress, Obama approval ratings hit record lows
This isn’t a political party rant – I don’t care for the current Commander In Chief nor did I care for who his competition was this past election (it was a race between the lesser of the evils as far as I’m concerned) and I don’t vote party lines anyway. In fact, the only reason you see anything related to politics above is because Continue reading Master of the Obvious
I’m not one who’s normally prone to getting a kick out of someone else’s personal problems. Having been made fun of as a kid (and I’ll just assume it stopped there – I grew up to the point I just ignored people who attempted it while I was an adult) I am fairly sensitive to people in situations that other people seem to laugh at. Sometimes I’ll turn off a TV show if the person’s situation and potential for it to get made fun of makes me uncomfortable – yes, I know how ridiculous that sounds . Deal with it.
(side note: that does not extend to people who’s “personal problems” involve things like Continue reading Dang, Horse – I Trusted You!
Two guys walk into a bar…
…the third one ducks.
That is all.
It’s been a long day – I’m writing this at 1:19am while I’m sitting at the office taking a short break from a firedrill we’re going through.
I was surfing around on the web and found the most awesome news ever. OK, not really ever, but still pretty good news:
Dumb and Dumber To is going to come out – Continue reading Made My Day
