My run this evening started off on a great note – a personal record 8:57 first mile which was primarily uphill. Considering it was a pace run (running the 5k for total time) and not a speed run (where I try to run the fastest first 1.5-2.0 miles I can) that gives me hope that within a few weeks I should be able to run a sub-8 minute mile on a speed run.
About 2 1/2 miles into the run my Achilles completely tightened up. It was so bad that I couldn’t even jog – I could barely walk. So the last mile-ish or so I had to limp my way back to the house – a very unfortunate end to what started off so well.
I had to change my running schedule, as well; it loosened up for volleyball but it was tight all day on Tuesday and Wednesday, and I’m just hoping by Thursday it’s in better shape for me to get my speed run in.by
