Slackin’

I should be there.For the vast majority of my professional career I didn’t take vacations.  In fact, I can’t remember the last time I took an entire week off of work and didn’t check e-mail or take phone calls.  Part of that we could call “dedication” and “loyalty”; part of it is a complete lack of any sort of work-life balance.  And a last part probably had something to do with the fact that I loved what I did, even if I needed out because I’d been doing it so long.

OK, that’s not entirely true.  What I love to do is solve problems, and I’m especially fond of that when it lets me stretch my programming fingers to make things work better.

Yes, I am a geek.

I love to take the high-level business requirements, so to speak, help guide the discussion to the best answer and then find the best resources to get the solution done (whether that’s me or someone else).

Time flies when you’re having fun.

I am having so much fun I can barely stand myself.  OK, no smart remarks around your ability to stand me, either, for those loyal readers who know me.  You love me and you know it, just admit it and we’ll all be that much happier.

Seriously, though, if the axiom “time flies when you’re having fun” applies, then by that right I’m having a downright ball.  Because I had no idea that three+ months had passed since I last posted (about the damn Yankees, I believe).  And a lot of stuff has happened since June 21st.  Allow me to recap:
