The title of the post is one of my favorite lines from a good TV show that was cancelled too soon – The Unit. I just finished watching the fourth and final season of it this week and one of the last few episodes has that line in it at a pivotal moment.
But that’s not why I wrote this post. I wrote this Continue reading Hell Yeah!
I’m getting there.
A few short months ago I was barely able to finish a 5k, even walking half the way. A few weeks ago I ran that same 3.1 miles at a 10-minute mile pace and was damn happy about it. Then last week I tweaked my Achilles and was out of commission for a week – down from running three days a week to none.
So my expectations for today, especially after two hours of 3-person sand volleyball last night, were pretty low. So imagine my surprise when Continue reading New PR
My run this evening started off on a great note – a personal record 8:57 first mile which was primarily uphill. Considering it was a pace run (running the 5k for total time) and not a speed run (where I try to run the fastest first 1.5-2.0 miles I can) that Continue reading Damn the Achilles
If I haven’t mentioned it recently, I love my new watch.

Granted this is my second run with it so all that means is I did better in one of the categories than the last run (fastest mile, distance, 5k time, 10k time), but Continue reading Longest Run Yet
On Tuesday I got my latest training tool for my quest to hit a 24-minute 5k: my Garmin Forerunner 15. Because UPS decided to drop it off late in the evening (after volleyball) I didn’t get a chance to break it out on a run until today.
After one run Continue reading 9:36 Mile
Today I decided to up my running training a bit. My best friend, who I’m running with in September, is on a regimen that a friend of her’s who runs is doing; I’m going to try it the Continue reading Stepping It Up
Today was the Paws 4 Autism 5k (and Autism Egg Hunt) out at Unity Village. One of my friends from volleyball is very engaged in Paws 4 Autism so it seemed like a good opportunity for me to get some more practice in before September’s “official” run and help a great cause (you might recall that Continue reading What? More Running?
